Tuner: Plug In To iTunes Playlists
Published May 17th, 2006
Tuner lets Mac OS X users tune in to tuneDial.org playlists through iTunes
Here's another very cool, innovative use of iTunes to enable music sharing. It's intended primarily for musicians to be able to share their music freely with the world, and the free Tuner software ties the musician's playlist into the listener's local iTunes software. The concept is a little mind-boggling, but once you download Tuner and try it out with some of the hosted playlists on tuneDial.org, it'll make more sense. This is still in beta, so I'm going to evaluate it a bit more before calling it a "keeper," but it certainly looks promising! By the way, the developer has provided a lot of useful technical details about Tuner on the TuneDial website for the geeks among us.
