EasyEclipse provides free, open source, easy-to-use Eclipse distributions and plugins for Windows, Mac and Linux I didn't find Eclipse all that hard to install and configure, though it definitely has too many preferences panes to wade through. Like many Windows apps, it has preferences for its preferences. My best hope for EasyEclipse is that it makes finding and installing the plugins I want easier.
