Macworld UK - OpenOffice to be 'true' Mac application This is good news, and I'll be happy to try it out when it arrives. I do hope it's better than NeoOffice, which is sort of the same thing (isn't it?) One thing to note is that the Mac OS X OpenOffice port isn't going to be a "true" Mac application in the purest sense, because it's using Carbon API's rather than native Cocoa. Still, I wouldn't have expected otherwise given the cross-platform nature of OpenOffice. It's just too bad this project is so focused on the Microsoft-Office-derived user interface and functionality rather than offering something truly innovative.
