Desktopple: Hide Your Desktop. Instantly.
Originally downloaded 9/29/06. This is an alternative to Peter Maurer’s Desktop Curtain, which lets you quickly cover the icons on your desktop with an image or color. Desktopple has more options than Desktop Curtain, which hasn’t been updated since its 1.0 release. Another advantage is that it runs in the menubar, making it very convenient to use. Or you can cover your desktop with a configurable shortcut keystroke. Still, I prefer to use Desktop Sweeper as long as I have Unsanity’s APE running… which unfortunately does not include Leopard at this point. So, Desktopple works, but not well enough for me. What I really want is the option to have my normal desktop doing its thing, but for the icons to just go away unless I’m using the Finder.
Version as tested: 1.1.
