I Know & Manage: A database for storing and organizing any kind of data

I Know & Manage SharewareOriginally downloaded 12/23/05. Yet another knowledge-management shareware app makes the scene. You know I’ve gotta give it a try!

Update 10/3/06. Hard to believe it’s been 9 months since I downloaded this intriguing personal information management software. Looking at the screenshots online again today, it has a striking resemblence to the interface for DevonThink Pro, yet I’ll be very surprised if it’s as feature-rich. Still, the prospect of having data stored in a non-proprietary SQL database is welcoming, because you never know when you might want to jump ship and move your data to another tool. Fortunately, DevonThink already has a lot of great export options, but it’s the relationships between the components that would be lost in a switch. Oh, and I Know & Manage is only $20… only about a fifth as much as DevonThink. It comes with a hefty-looking PDF file full of documentation. The developer of this shareware has been very busy this year, too… lots of updates since my previous download, so I’m updating it as well.

Version as tested: 1.10b3.
