SQLGrinder: The Mac OS X database development environment
Originally downloaded 6/26/06. SQLGrinder 2.0 completed its beta cycle today and was released to production. This is one of the most Mac-friendly of all the database development/management apps, with support for AppleScript, Automator, and Growl on top of its native Cocoa interface. I’ve got several DB management apps in the queue to evaluate, and at $59, I can afford to give this new one a whirl, too!
Update 10/18/06. SQLGrinder did turn out to be the best of the commercial MySQL tools I tried out recently, but it wasn’t nearly as good as CocoaMySQL, a free, open-source tool. For the gory details on my review of Mac OS X database management tools for MySQL, see my October 2006 article on the subject, including specific findings about SQLGrinder.
Version as tested: 2.0.3.
