ScreenShot Plus Enhances Apple’s Built-In Screen Capture Tool
Originally downloaded 5/5/06. Lately I’ve found myself using Apple’s screen capture rather than Snapz Pro X, because it’s faster and doesn’t do nasty drop shadows I can’t control or have to edit out in Photoshop. This little tool looks like it might be just the enhancement I need. Of course, there are a gazillion screen-capture tools for Mac OS X, so if I start looking now… Oh well.
Update 11/8/06. I’ve been testing a product called Constrictor lately, and I really like it. However, before I buy it I decided to go ahead and try out the various screen-capture tools I’ve been collecting this year. This one is $10, yet it’s not even as fully featured as two free Dashboard widgets I’ve used and admired (Screenshot Plus - Dashboard - Business, and Capture - Dashboard - Business). In fact, this ScreenShot Plus is only a small step up from Mac OS X’s native Grab tool. If all I want is a convenient way of using Grab, there’s either an application service for it, or I can use ClawMenu, which has a screen capture tool built in as one of its many functions.
Version as tested: 1.4.
