Update 1/8/07. I finally got around to trying out Cha-Ching, and though there’s a lot to like, it’s not yet able to take the place of Quicken for me. See my January 2007 article, “Still Seeking Freedom From Quicken: Alternative Personal Finance Apps for Mac OS X” for details. I do plan to keep an eye on Cha-Ching, and will update this if it resolves some of the problems I noted.
Update 1/29/07. I gave up trying to import .QIF files using the 0.5 version of Cha-Ching released in mid-January 2007. The developer has noted the bugs and pledged to fix them in the next release.
Version as tested: 0.5.
