TextForge
Originally downloaded May 22, 2007. I've been busily trying out new text editors lately, since for programming HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and the like, I'm not totally thrilled with any of the numerous choices available. So I'm delighted to run across TextForge, which sounds like it's a worthy entry to my spreadsheet.
TextForge is an open-source project, so you can even download the Xcode project files!
Version as tested: 2.0.
Updated 8/14/12.
TextForge is very — and I mean very — basic. It's not much more than TextEdit with line numbers. If that's what you want, you have gobs of choices. But if I'm going to add another piece of software to my arsenal, it's got to have something my existing arsenal doesn't. And TextForge is just not worthwhile, even if it's free and open source.
